- Silkstone Common, Silkstone, and Dodworth Circular: A 10.3 km circular trail offering a variety of scenery, suitable for dogs.
- The Penistone Boundary Walk is a scenic, circular route of roughly 15 to 16 miles that traces the perimeter of the South Yorkshire market town. Typically starting and ending at Cubley Hall, the trail takes about 7.5 to 8 hours to complete and features a mix of rolling countryside, woodlands, and historical landmarks.
- Cawthorne Boundary Walk - A 14-mile circular walk starting at the Village Hall, perfect for dog walkers.
- Shaded Forest Path - A 1.5-mile loop from Silkstone, great for any fitness level.
- The Pennine Way is a popular route for dog walkers, offering a variety of scenic trails suitable for walkers of different levels.
- Mam Tor and The Great Ridge via Elbow Ridge - This 10.8 km circular trail is highly rated for its panoramic views of Hope Valley and Kinder Scout. It features moderate elevation gain (601 m) and is ideal for adventurous dogs and owners. Dogs should be kept on a lead in areas with grazing animals, and early arrival is recommended to secure parking.

- Stanage Edge - A 9-mile trail with rugged landscapes, offering stunning views of the Dark Peak. This moderate walk is ideal for dogs that enjoy more challenging terrain and for owners seeking dramatic scenery.
- Limestone Way - A long-distance trail stretching 46 miles across Staffordshire and Derbyshire. Sections of this route are dog-friendly and can be tailored to different experience levels, making it suitable for both short walks and extended hikes.
- Riverside Walks (Duke’s Drive to Froggatt Bridge) - A scenic riverside route along the Derwent River, starting at the Bridge Inn. Dogs can paddle in shallow areas, and the walk passes through picturesque villages and woodland, making it ideal for a relaxed day out.
Heights of Abraham - Shorter, hilly trails near Matlock Bath, around two miles round trip. These are easier for dogs and owners who prefer a less strenuous walk while still enjoying elevated views.
